Practical Nursing Program (LPN)
1. Apply
Upon deciding to apply for enrollment in nursing classes at Galen, submit a completed application.

2. Test
Submit applicable ACT/SAT scores (19 ACT or 1350 SAT) within the last five years, OR schedule to take, and pass, Galen’s preadmission test. (Non-refundable testing fee is $50.)
Galen’s test is the PAX PN for new nursing students or PAX RN for current LPN’s. If you’ve previously taken this test within the last five years, you might be exempt from testing for Galen.
3. Proof of education
Submit proof of high school graduation or GED.
4. Interview
If required, interview with Galen Admissions Committee representative.
5. Acceptance
Upon completion of the above steps, application will be considered in totality. You will be notified in writing of admission or denial.
6. Sign Enrollment Agreement
Upon acceptance, schedule appointment with a Galen Financial Planning Coordinator to pay appropriate fees and sign enrollment agreement.
7. Orientation
Attend mandatory orientation prior to start of class.
Associate of Science in Nursing (LPN-to-RN Bridge Program)
Upon successful completion of Galen's LPN program, or for applicants currently holding an LPN license, Galen offers an opportunity to continue on to become an RN. In addition to the above admission requirements, students applying to this program must also meet the following criteria:

Submit official LPN transcript reflecting GPA of 2.5 or above.

If requesting transfer credits, submit official transcripts to Galen.

Provide proof of current, active, unencumbered LPN licensure (unless the application is submitted within three months of graduating from Galen’s LPN program).

Non-Galen graduates may be requested to validate comparable LPN requirements. Faculty may validate using nationally normed tests and clinical competency requirements.

If applicable, schedule advisory meeting to determine course selection.
